Hi and welcome to my Nook and Cranny Farm website. My name is Earl Cornprobst and I'm a retired small animal veterinarian. I grew up on a family farm just up the road from my home. My gardening hobby was always my "therapy" time away from the veterinary practice. Now it's a full time retirement occupation. A crop produced by my little farm is table potatoes that we donate to a large distribution food pantry system in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We produced 7 tons of potatoes for the Food Gatherers in 2022.
For many years I have also grown garlic with the intention of eventually having enough to sell as hardneck garlic seed bulbs. I've found that garlic is interesting to grow and the work flow of producing it fits in with the potato production. Quality garlic seed bulbs are very labor intensive to produce. Very large cloves are used for "seed" to grow the largest and best quality garlic bulbs. Only a certain portion of a garlic crop meets this standard to be sold as garlic seed bulbs. That select portion creates a little income to partially offset the potato costs.

Selling garlic seed helps support our potato donations.

Please use my contact box below to ask any questions about what I grow.
