When you buy planting garlic it is sold by the pound, not the number of bulbs or number of cloves.

     There is no guarantee that buying a certain seed size will duplicate itself. It's a "potential". Many factors can influence the final size.

     In general, if you buy planting garlic in Jumbo size bulbs you will have larger cloves yielding larger plants therefore larger bulbs. Yet fewer Jumbo bulbs make up a pound so you may have fewer plants.

     If you buy planting garlic in Large size bulbs there is usually 1-2 more bulbs per pound and therefore more cloves (more plants). Although a little smaller in size they still have the acceptable potential to grow large or jumbo.

     So are you going for the biggest garlic or the most bulbs?
